Baxter's Leg Update - May 2000

As many of you know, in November of 1999 Baxter's leg which had been broken swelled up.

At first the doctor felt it was one of the pins irritating the bone.Then after one unecessary surgery

(the vet cut him open without removing any pins) he decided nothing was wrong and the pin should stay

along with the swelling. (I am no vet and even I knew something was wrong.) The leg swelled up even more

and three different doctors later, while waiting for his March 3 surgery, one of the two remaining pins

popped out by itself. Baxter, who probably knew the pin had to come out all along simply

pulled the pin out himself as we tried to reach the doctors! (This dog feels no pain.)

After his surgery to remove the last remaining pin, Baxter is a new dog!

Now he is his happy go lucky self strongly using all four legs and we haven't seen

him favor his broken leg since. YAHOO!
